Fireworks show and free rides home planned for New Year's Eve in Omaha
New Year’s Eve event organizers are gearing up to make sure Omahans have a fun and safe time ringing in 2024.
Sunday’s festivities in the Omaha area will include a fireworks show, a midnight ball drop and free rides home when the celebration is over.
Temperatures on Sunday are expected to reach around 29 degrees, with a low around 17 degrees expected Sunday night, according to the National Weather Service’s office in Valley.
For those looking to celebrate a bit earlier in the day, the annual New Year’s Eve fireworks will begin at 7 p.m. near the CHI Health Center and Charles Schwab Field.
The family-friendly event that ends the Holiday Lights Festival offers a way to celebrate that’s early enough for young children to attend as well as those with plans later in the evening, event marketing coordinator Maggie Winton said.
